Fat Injections

Fat has been used for many years to restore the facial volume. The techniques have been refined over the years to make the fast last very long and sometimes it can be permanent.

The advantages include no risk of allergy as it is your own fat, plenty of material as it can be harvested from abdomen and hips.

The disadvantage is in adding another procedure to harvest the fat and the unpredictability of fat. Although it can last a very long time, it can also disappear earlier in some areas and lead to asymmetry. The other disadvantage is the inability to reverse any over correction which can give the face a bloated look.

My Approach: I have not embraced fat injections in my practice as I am not certain of its longevity and predictability.
